What can I do to help?

Apologies for the lack of posts, I’ve moved house and office in the past month so keeping up with the website fell to the bottom of my “to do” list.

I’ve just finished reading “What can I do to help” written by Deborah Hutton, with the profits going to support Macmillan Cancer Relief. It’s a book of practical suggestions for ways family and friends can help someone diagnosed with cancer. The upshot of it seems to be – cook dinner! I’d recommend the book, (not necessarily the suggestion to cook dinner, although there are plenty of other practical ideas, if cooking isn’t your strong point.)

It’s quite short, about the size of a paperback and not to expensive (about £6). What I liked were the quotes of peoples experiences, this really brings home Cancer Research UK’s slogan “Cancer doesn’t discriminate” with contributions from Dawn French, Cherie Blair, Hugh Grant, Mo Mowlam and Tessa Jowell to name but a few. Oh yes and if you are ever looking for a celebrity to roll a joint for you, then don’t ask Dawn French (!)
